Hernando County

Hillsborough

Franklin Templeton Investor Services Inc. has retained the Tampa office of Heery International (813/875-9656), an architecture, design, and engineering firm, to design the fifth and largest building - eight stories and 300,000 square feet - on the investment company's Carillon campus in St. Petersburg. Heery has added senior interior designer Holly Anne Dobbins, project architects Jerry L. Dunlap and Keith F. Silas, and marketing coordinator Tobin Burton to its Tampa office.

Batson-Cook Co. is constructing a 4-story, 132,000-sf office building called One Highland Oaks in the 88-acre Highland Oaks office park located at the northwest corner of I-75 and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Tampa. Arch: Smallwood, Reynolds, Stewart, Stewart & Associates Inc. (813/221-1226).

Manatee County

A 113,600-sf, $7-million sports complex called J.P. Igloo Ice & Inline Sports Complex featuring two National Hockey League-sized ice rinks and a roller rink, each with seating for 500, is being built in the northeast section of I-75 intersection with U.S. Hwy. 301, near the Gulf Coast Factory Shops, Ellenton. Pasco County

Fivay Medical Office Building is a 9,134-sf building being constructed on 1.16 acres at the south side of the intersection of Jacque Rd. and Fivay Rd., Hudson. Eng: Cornerstone Engineering and Surveying Inc. (813/447-1763).

Pinellas

A $1-million interior build-out project is under way for the 83,000-sf Adva-lite building located on the south side of Bryan Dairy Rd. east of Belcher Rd. in Bryan Dairy East business park. Contractor: Ed Taylor Construction South, Inc. (727) 786-5954.

Pinellas County is renovating an 87,000-sf, 2-story office/warehouse facility at 5089 East Ave. S., Clearwater, for $2.6 million. Arch: Mason Blau & Associates, Inc.

The board of St. Petersburg-based Echelon International Corp. ((727) 803-8225) has appointed Thomas D. Wilson treasurer and Brent Gibbs assistant corporate secretary.

Polk

Bobby McKown, president of Florida Citrus Mutual in Lakeland (941/682-1111), will retire at the end of August after almost 19 years the 12,000 member citrus growers' organization. Andy LaVigne will take over leadership with the title of executive vice president and CEO.

Jireh, Inc. of Tarpon Springs in Pinellas County will build a cemetery on 60 acres on the north side of Griffin Road west of Mall Hill Drive, North Lakeland. Phase one, to cost about $3 million, will have 8 or 10 separate burial gardens, up to 10 mausoleums, an office building, sales center and maintenance facility. Gulf Coast Avionics is building a 27,715-sf office/hangar facility on 2.4 acres at Lakeland Linder Regional Airport at 3650 Dranefield Rd. Eng: Carnell Engineering.

Sarasota

Eckerd's is building an 11,300-sf free-standing drugstore on 1.5 acres at U.S. Hwy. 41 and Livingston Rd. Sarasota. Eng: Millard Yoder (941/907-6900).`
